Glenda Chaconas resides in the Tampa Bay area in the sunshine state of Florida. Her early childhood was spent moving from base to base, as her father was career Air Force. The family eventually settled back in her native Florida. She is married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
She is largely a self-taught artist whose passion for painting developed later in life after her daughter left for college. She began by painting murals for her family using house paint. Her husband and daughter surprised her with everything a budding artist could want and that began her artistic adventure.
Glenda works primarily in graphite and watercolors, loving the immediacy and control of the mediums. Whether using colors that are boldly vibrant or softly muted, her paintings reflect an inner directive to place on canvas the art that resides deep within her soul.
Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No. Just as one can never learn how to paint.
